23 skiddoo! It's time for... Toyhax graphic Toydays's subject: Legacy Skids! Skids was an interesting addition to the line. He's always been on the cusp of popularity but never quite achieving iconic status. His animation appearances are near non-existant. The less said about Bayverse Skids, the better. *shudder* However in the comics, writers have done a lot with the character. This is probably due to public perception of what makes Proper Skids is also near non-existant. It deosn't help his vehicle mode was mistaken for what looks like a early RAV 4 instead of the iconic City Turbo (as also seen in the anime series You're under Arrest!!), which was also known to include a folding minibike. Honda Turbo pic/ YUA pic To sum up Skids in comics- *reads summary on TF Wiki* . . . Excuse me a moment. sad drinking GIF Boy has had a rough time. MOVING ON. Legacy Skids is a rock solid toy. He has one of the more solid bot modes I've seen in any release. Now, let's restore his G1 glory. Turbo Mini Mode! SIDE VIEW Top View ToyHax provides turn signal light decals for either side and cel blue shaded window labels. Since Skids was originally a Honda City TURBO, ToyHax restores that all important designation. As the original toy had blue windows, I went with these. Not shown are the standard mirror stickers. Front View The front end also gets mirrored labels for the headlights, metallic yellow floodlamps, and the front bumper regains it's red trim. As is customary, you get several plate options. I went with 7H30RY. REAR VIEW On the back end more bumper decals and the license plate. The rear lights get turn, brake, and backup colors. More cel blue adds the rear window and a gold detail sticker adds the hatch access handle. Bot Mode! Standing pose Like their previous Legacy sets (see Hoist, Grapple, Hoist, Infero...) ToyHax restores a lot of the G1 mech detail stickers. Granted it's not 1 to 1 accurate, but it still conveys the vibe. A blue color matched label covers up the black panel where his head slots during transformation. Upper Torso Zooming in here, you can see his restored white crest, yellow eyes (set includes metallic blue option), and gray side vents. On his arm, some nice red circuit detail and greeble. His shoulders regain their chrome trim and red detail, with the pin cover adding a nice visual. Leg The hips receive some additional red. Skids's legs regain their pinstipe thighs and kneecap greeble. The calves have have their mech details restored. ToyHax also adds some dark bronze triangles and red circuitry to help break up all that matte black. belly Another addition by ToyHax is more of the red circuit pattern* on the midsection, here partially transformed for a better look. Knee Lastly you get some color matched pin covers for the inner knees. Dynamic pose This set really goes the extra mile and adds some much needed flair. Yet another solid entry in ToyHax's growing "Complete the look" repetoire. *This red circuit on black detail was also used in the Creatures Collide upgrade set, notably on Skywasp's neck socket and Scorponok's shoulders and beast mode leg joints
